serious summer sock love

I am having some serious sock love

These babies have been sitting on my needles waiting for me to close the toe,

for longer than I would like to admit

However, the task of finishing was sweetened by the blissful feeling of trying on

Admittedly it is only one....but still so nice

our trip

Over the last few days we have been confined to the inside of our van.
We drove through 4 provinces, from British Columbia to Manitoba, a mere 26 hours
The girls did well! Since I was busy driving, my niece took pictures.

butterfly hike

yesterday we went away on a hike

just niece, sil, bugsy, papaya and i

only niece and i made it up to the falls because it required a little bit of rock-climbing

we have been busy
away from home and computer
enjoying the heat
maybe a little too much, some heat exhaustion
needed cool basements, quiet places and naps today

have been doing swimming lessons,
vacation bible school,
play dates,
beach days,
supper at the lake,
ice cream cones,
late night movies,
sleeping bags and sleep overs with niece
sprinklers,
popsicles
and all the good summer stuff that calls you outdoors and away...

Today we decided to stay home and enjoy our yard

even though we could have gone to the beach.

Friends called to go,

but sometimes you need to stick around home.

Today was one of those days.

So we had our own fun and added in some treats!

Lemon-aid, popsicles, oreos and strawberries

They all mix well with sprinkler time, don't you think?
