mini-quilts

my girls are constantly raiding my scrap basket
and without any sewing
they make pet shop homes
barbie carpets
doll clothes
really anything their imagination creates
i love watching their creations unfold
the other day they decided to make mini-quilts
i thought they were really quite good

yesterday the scrap basket was transfered to a shoe box and i found them playing with it outside ... my first reaction was to say "no", but i just couldn't when i saw how much fun they were having ... instead i just asked they bring it back in when they were done (which they did) ... after all isn't sharing fabric with friends what it is all about?

I love the mini quilts! How cute of your little crafters. I think you should save these and turn them into one big quilt one day, to remember their fun!

Hello! Thank you for your kind comment on my blog.

I loved this post. It reminded me of similar scrap raids I made on my mom's fabric stash. I think she enjoyed friendly sharing with me too, and I look forward to that kind of sharing someday!

Oh, and the mini-quilts were definitely good. I especially love the design of the first one.

The mini quilts are adorable.
That's wonderful that you are letting your kids develop an appreciation and artistic feel fibre and creating. Fabrics are nicest when shared at any stage of a project.
