The bag is quite roomy. The finished dimensions are 13x12x10" (without the straps). At first it doesn't sound big but it should easily hold the things she will need it for.
The polka dot fabric actually has blue dots on it. For some reason they seem really white to me in the pictures.
I found the pattern called "Daisy Dazzler" in the Quilts and More Fall 2009 magazine. You can find a link to the pattern online.

I love the baggy-ness of this bag. It would definitely be my bag of choice! And the aqua blue / brown combo looks so great together. I have a co-worker who has a Vera Bradley bag with that color combination and I just love it.
this bag is so pretty and perfect for throwing things into on the way out the door. i love the pattern. perhaps i will try one out. oh and the colors really caught my eye!!!
I love the bag! I feel guilty--I usually make bags for my daughters to give as birthday presents, but neither of them has a bag! Another last minute project, perhaps?

and that new header...love it too!
the pictures of them are just lovely.
I really like this bag! I may have to make one. Looks like it could hold quite a few balls of yarn and some knitting needles. Beautiful job!
That's a great bag - I love the polka dots! If it were my bag it would be perfect for knitting projects on the go :) I'm sure your daughter will love it!
