This is the pile that awaited me today. I didn't really plan to do it on Labor Day. I just really wanted to can peaches and well, they were ready to go today.
So, with some happy helpers we started our day. I couldn't believe just how much help they were. Both of them were so excited and stayed positive all day. Their job was slipping the peaches from their skins. It really saved me alot of time! YAY! The only fight was when one of them wanted to change places at the sink. Let's just say that did not go over well!
And here is the fruit of our labour, no pun intended! We also made a few quarts of peach pie filling. So I am hoping it will turn out well! And these are my nails after a day of canning peaches. I add this because last night we were at friends and their teenage daughter wanted to do my nails. Badly! I said "alright" but told her they probably wouldn't make it through the day. Oh well! I looked glamarous while I slept! There has to be some merit in that!

I'm jealous - look at those jars full of yummy peaches!
I didn't can this year (just too grumpy and pregnant) and I know I'm going to regret it this winter.
I canned peaches a couple of years ago and they were the best! I'm looking forward to a not-as-hectic fall next year to do the same.
Mmm, they look delicious! Love canned peaches. :)
those will be jars of sunshine to you this winter! How great you and your girls had such a productive and fun day together!
yeah for you! the worn nail polish was worth it, and what great helpers you have.
Peaches are the taste of summer! I love how it was a team effort.
I've never canned anything before; I am now inspired by your rows of delicious canned peaches!
I love to can peaches!! I haven't had time yet, hopefully I will very soon. Feels so good to "make" food yourself and then enjoy it later in the year!
That looks soooo yummy!!! Peach pie sounds delicious!
They look delicious!
Isn't it wonderful to be able to store away summer goodness in a jar? I canned some peaches a few weeks ago, and I'm hoping to do apple butter next week!
