I never realized how satisfying baby knits would be.
For one, they are fast and secondly, they turn out so cute.I have been eyeing up the Saartje's Booties for quite sometime.
I just needed to wait for the right time.
I had to learn how to crochet a chain (oh no!) for the button straps,
but it wasn't too hard.
I was trying to use up scraps on these booties
but next time I would either do the whole bootie in variegated yarn
or use it only on the bottom.
My husband didn't think it mattered that they didn't "match".
I am thinking it is just part of the handmade charm.

Love the shoes, I also have a pattern very similar, but all crocheted saved to make one day. I love the little bit of purple in the one shoe, adds character.
absolutely the perfect gift!!
how adorable they are. and how generous of you to change course and knit them up!
Absolutely adorable, the booties are so cute, have not knit in many years but seeing these makes me want to pick it up again.
adorable...I like how they all coordinate! that baby is sure gonna be cute in all that sweet handknit gear!
OH these are heatbreakingly adorable! Nice work and lucky baby!
these are so adorable! Baby knits are so much fun
That is some beautifully sophisticated baby knitting. Strong colors and a scaled down 'big kid' hat - simply perfect!
Those look great! There is something so satisfying about knitting for babies.
Warm wishes, Tonya
Hi, sorry I don't have your email to reply re the comment you left on my blog - glad the food blog site will help. I am not supposed to eat dairy, I am lactose - but I love cheese so needless to say I buy lactaid by the bulk bottles! Those are such cute little booties - I have never attempted a tiny baby knit yet :)
Oh yes, the perfect set! Precious!!
Love 'em - they turned out great!
Love those booties. I tried to knit that pattern for my new granddaughter. I did everything wonderfully, even the right strap but I couldn't figure out how to do the left strap. I was so frustrated. I am going to keep trying.
